Boiler Service One-Off Payment
This is a service carried out by a Gas-Safe engineer. The service should take around half an hour to complete.
The service should include:
- Making a visual check of the boiler to see if there is any damage
- Checking the flame and making sure it is the right colour. It shouldn’t be yellow or orange. It should be blue if the boiler is working correctly
- Looking at the pressure and/or heat output
- Making sure all the safety devices are working
- Looking at the case seals to make sure they are providing an effective seal
- Checking main boiler components: this includes the heat exchanger, the burner with the main injector and the spark probe
- Turning the boiler off and then on again to make sure it sparks up correctly
- Cleaning any boiler parts that need to be cleaned
Once the service is complete your engineer will give you a service report. If they have found any faults these will be included in the report with recommendations as to what needs to be done next.
Boiler Bronze
Boiler bronze will give you cover for an annual boiler service and repairs to your boiler if it breaks down. The annual service includes a carbon monoxide test and a gas safety check.
Boiler Silver
Boiler Silver gives you all the benefits of Boiler Bronze cover, but it also covers your central heating system.
If your central heating breaks down with a complete loss of heating you’ll be covered for the motorised valve, the pump, thermostatic radiator valves, interconnecting pipework and leaks that cannot be contained.
Boiler Gold
This will give you cover for your boiler, central heating system, plumbing and drainage, electricity, home security and pest control.
This includes
- Clearing blocked drains
- Restoring flow to waste pipes and drains
- Leaks
- Blockage or collapse of your water supply pipe from the freshwater pipe to the stop valve
- Electricity failure caused by one or more of your circuits
- Fault with the wiring
- Problem with the fuse box/consumer unit
- If you lose your keys or the lock is damaged and you can’t get into your home. This is considered an emergency only if not being able to enter your home is considered unsafe or insecure.
- Boarding up damaged doors and windows
- Cover for a pest infestation including wasps, hornets, rats and mice. You won’t be covered for infestations on any outbuildings in your garden.

Exclusions – What’s Not Included
The following problems are not included in any of the cover policies:
- Pre-existing faults
- Accidental damage
- Underfloor heating
- Towel rails
- Non-standard parts

Service requests have a limit of £50 for parts and two hours of labour, so if you need a part costing more than £50 you will have to pay the difference yourself.
