E.ON Boiler Cover: 2022 Guide and Reviews

Last Updated on January 1, 2022

Like most household appliances, if you want them to last you need to look after them and your boiler is no exception.

Boiler cover means that if your boiler stops working you know you can get it repaired quickly, without having to find the money there and then.

E.ON have a large customer base. They are one of the leading energy suppliers, providing services to householders throughout the UK.

The E.ON website has a lot of information about their services and is easy to navigate. As well as the information about their boiler cover, they also have a blog that includes topics such as choosing the right energy tariff and energy bills and statements explained.

They have teamed up with Homeserve to provide boiler cover. There are four plans to choose from including basic boiler cover up to a service that includes plumbing, heating and electrics.

Boiler Cover and More

Gas Boiler Breakdowns

This cover policy covers repairs to your boiler and the controls with the replacement of the heat exchanger. If your boiler is noisy getting an engineer to investigate is also covered.

If you take out this plan you also get a free boiler service in your first year of cover.

The boiler service should include:

  • Making a visual check of the boiler
  • Checking the flame and making sure it is the right colour. It should be blue rather than yellow or orange which would indicate a problem
  • Looking at the pressure output
  • Checking safety devices
  • Looking at the case seals to make sure they are providing an effective seal
  • Checking main boiler components: This includes the heat exchanger and the burner with the main injector and the spark probe
  • Turning the boiler off and then on again to make sure it sparks up correctly
  • Cleaning any boiler parts that are dirty or blocked up

Once the service is complete your engineer will give you a service report. If they have found any faults these will be included in the report with recommendations as to what needs to be done next.

Gas Central Heating

The same cover as the Gas Boiler cover is provided with Gas Central Heating, with the addition of cover for your gas central heating and your gas supply pipe, including the replacement of a leaking gas supply hose attached to a gas cooker.

Cover also includes replacement of leaking radiators, water tank, cylinders or pumps.

Electrics and Heating

This is cover for your boiler and heating with the addition of electrics. It covers you if your fuse box breaks down or you have broken or non-functioning light bulb sockets.

You’ll also get repairs for your immersion, electrical switches and plug sockets. If you have an accident while carrying out DIY electrical jobs, you’ll be covered if your electrical wiring fails.

Plumbing, Heating and Electrics

This cover covers your boiler, heating, electrics with the addition of plumbing and drainage including your water supply pipe. Your boiler will be repaired if it breaks down and it will be covered for an annual service.

You’ll get cover for blocked drains, leaking pipes, dripping taps and toilet and sink blockages.

Your electric cover will help if you have a broken fuse box or light switches, wiring that doesn’t work or a faulty electric shower.
