An ideal way to make sure your boiler runs efficiently is to have an annual service. You can also cover yourself for any boiler breakdowns with Corgi Home Cover.
Corgi was established in 1970. It has grown to become the third-largest boiler and home emergency supplier in the United Kingdom.
As well as their home emergency cover, Corgi also offers a boiler replacement service. The cost is from £33.60 a month or a one-off payment of £2,599.
Corgi offer home emergency and boiler replacement services. They have four Home Cover plans with or without a policy excess and the choice to pay monthly or annually.
All parts and labour are included and you can renew the cover for the lifetime of your boiler.
The HomePlan packages start on the day you have your application excepted but you can’t make a claim for the initial 30 days.
Your plan is also limited for the first three and six months. You won’t get a boiler repair above £300 in the first three months and your boiler won’t be replaced during the first 6 months.
The Corgi website is easy to navigate. You can see clearly what each plan includes and excludes, together with pricing and policy terms and conditions.
Corgi also gives you a 24/7 emergency helpline.

Boiler Cover and More
The four Corgi cover policies are:
Essentials
This is an emergency cover for your boiler and central heating, plus an annual boiler service. The service will normally take place towards the end of your annual service agreement or between March and October following the year you took out the policy.
When the engineer gives your boiler an annual service they should check:
- The boiler casing to see if there is any damage
- The flame colour. It shouldn’t be orange or yellow.
- The pressure and/or heat output
- That safety devices are working
- The case seals
- The main boiler components: this includes the heat exchanger and the burner with the main injector and the spark probe
- They will turn the boiler off and then on again to make sure it sparks up correctly
- Clean any boiler parts that are blocked up or dirty
Once the service is complete your engineer will give you a service report. If they have found any faults these will be included in the report with recommendations as to what needs to be done next.
Starter
This package includes emergency cover for your boiler and central heating, an annual boiler service plus cover for plumbing and electrics.
Advanced
The advanced package includes all the benefits of the Essentials and Starter package, plus your gas and water supply pipe and internal drains.
Complete
The complete package is the most comprehensive – it includes everything from each of the other three plans as well as external drains, boiler replacement and taps and toilets.
You also get a priority emergency helpline.
